Trendy Taipei is an international-scale metropolitan music festival that utilizes these strengths to boost the dynamic relationship between technology and culture and help the cultural and creative industries understand international trends so that they can formulate their future strategies. The core theme of Trendy Taipei’s events is Music X Innovation, focusing on three principal areas—the concert economy, industry trends, and urban action—with the goal of promoting Taipei as a key center for popular music in the Asia-Pacific region
Trendy Taipei 2026
Now in its second year, the international urban music festival Trendy Taipei will run for 16 days from August 22 to September 6. Themed TAIPEI IN VIBES, this year’s festival embodies the idea of a city driven by music. You are invited to log on and begin your very own cultural exploration. Diverse rhythms and creative forms pulsate through the city’s core, from major arenas and concert venues to neighborhood streets and alleys, and from stage performances to everyday life. These diverse energies flow and converge, shaping Taipei’s unique cultural landscape. This year’s Trendy Taipei focuses on marketing the city by both integrating and continuing, while at the same time upgrading existing frameworks. Three strands—The Concert Economy, Industry Trends and Urban Action—connect the festival’s fourteen event series, building a network of events spanning different venues and time slots. Music is no longer confined to stage performances, but instead becomes the rhythm of the city, flowing through the streets and into everyday life. As festival-goers move through the different scenes, they will both feel and help create a multiplicity of vibes.
Trendy Taipei 2025
Trendy Taipei 2025, Taipei’s very own international metropolitan music festival, took place between August 25 and September 7, 2025. Themed Trendy Taipei: It’s Now, the festival’s events centered around three main aspects of popular music—the concert economy, industry trends, and urban action—and incorporated art, audio-visual experiences, technology, gaming, and fashion. This 14-day celebration of music was the fruit of a close partnership between Taipei City Government’s Department of Cultural Affairs, Department of Information and Tourism, Department of Economic Development, Department of Information Technology, and Taipei Music Center. The festival featured a variety of events, including major concerts, music performances, international forums, exhibitions, and markets. More than 130,000 people attended the festival’s 349 performances and forums with experts and performers from 19 countries.
Trendy Taipei 2024
Trendy Taipei 2024: Music X Innovation, held from September 2–8, 2024, was the pilot event for Taipei’s first large-scale, hybrid performance festival. A blend of popular music, art and culture, industry dialogue, technological applications, and live performances, the festival encompassed various aspects of popular music such as the state of the industry, technological development, international links, and future trends. Experts and performers from over 40 countries participated in the festival’s 13 event series, which spanned over 280 performances and forums, attracting over 100,000 people. The aim of the festival was to gather creative energy from diverse cultural content to create Taipei’s very own unique urban lifestyle brand.
